    Spending Memorial Day in a Private Garden

    Beautiful blooms of many colors were found in our friend Pat Prokop’s “Heavenly Backyard Garden“.

    A lush garden featuring a fountain, surrounded by vibrant greenery and plants, promoting an annual open garden event by Pat and Mary Prokop.

    He opens up his garden each Memorial Day weekend to be enjoyed by all. Gardeners, photographers, solar panel enthusiasts, astronomers, you name it, you are welcome. Set a spell under a cool patio with fans and cold drinks, whisper to a garden cat “Grizabella” who roams freely (Yes from the “Cats” Broadway play).

    This Memorial Day 2025, Our Fallen, We honor!

    I will always remember and honor my friends, my brothers with this post!

    It is very hard being the soldier who returns home to a hero’s welcome when your battle buddy, comrade, friend, brother does not!  Warriors Walk, fallen soldiers, 3ID  (3RD Infantry Division), Fort Stewart, Georgia.

    We the soldiers, leaders, active duty and retired, and our families from Alpha Company, 3/7th Infantry gathered at the Warriors Walk to remember our fallen Cottonbalers 2017.

    Trees were planted along the Warriors Walk for each soldier KIA (killed in action) from the 3rd Infantry Division (3ID). 469 Trees lined the walk.

    All brothers are commemorated back at Fort Stewart but these are photos from the ceremony while we were deployed after SPC Norris died.
