The harvest table
Sunday morning call to having a “Thankful” heart.
One: Let us come into God’s presence with thanksgiving in our hearts.
All: Thank you, God, for all you have given us!
One: You give us the sun and the rain that help make plants grow.
All: Thank you, God, for all you have given us!
One: You give us food from the earth to make us grow.
All: Thank you, God, for all you have given us!
One: You give us the gift of Creation and the gift of each other.
All: Thank you, God, for all you have given us!
All: Thank you, God, for all you have given us!
A Trinity of Thanksgiving Pumpkins
For two Sundays, everyone at church was invited to write a word of gratitude on a pumpkin. Today all three pumpkins filled with our words of gratitude were brought to the altar.
What is something that you are thankful for and gives you a grateful heart? Share it on the pumpkin.
Share it in a comment for someone who needs to hear it.
Thanksgiving day after a wonderful meal with our family, driving back home, we saw a young white tailed deer.
Grazing deer, Skidaway Island, Savannah, Georgia.
He was grazing on that sweet holiday grass.
Since we had nothing much to do, we just marveled at nature (this deer) in an area that was taken over by the human need for more bigger, more fancier, more expensive houses. And roads right up to the water.
Hey!
Don’t you guys know it’s rude to stare while someone’s eating? Move along!
After the thanksgiving gatherings are done, after the turkey meal has been eaten, after the goodbyes are said, then it’s time for…
Our tradition of putting up…
The Travel Tree
For several years now Neal and I have placed a travel tree in our home. During our many vactions and traveling to Georgia State Parks and Historic Site we purposed to collect an ornament from each place we visited.
Part of the excitement is as we decorate the tree get to experience memories of that place. Since we each hang different ornamental keepsakes, no two memories are the same, so decorating takes on a whole new meaning.
Familytraditions are very important! And they rock! Let’s sit back and enjoy our travels! (Drinks optional)
