Blogging on the Go – The Look Back: May 2023

Sometimes it’s hard to be in a town with various Java-coffee spots. Mornings can be such a conundrum!

Seemingly, Neal and I were stuck in the “home-office-coffee-wing-back-chair” routine.

Look at the lovely seats, all that gorgeous morning light from for windows.

You know… that comfort of the familiar, also we got to stay in our “PJ’s”.

Ok! Get out this apartment, now! We set out to sit and sip at new coffee roasters only to drive up to the location and find they were “closed today”. Did I just use Apple Maps but didn’t actually read the displayed info. Yes! Oh, yes!

“Where to now?” Neal asked

I have an idea!

PERC Coffee! Perfect!

A cool example of urban reclaimed warehouse space, I love the beauty of this place!

Immediately, the aspects of lighting on counter tops, vintage windows and angles on walls filled my mind! Ok! Enough of that Robert!

We were here for coffee after all.

Mine, The Good Times Latte made with delicious habanero sugar, a jolt ⚡️, to start the morning. Neal, a cup of classic drip (Boring!).

Come on! Live a little!

Nice cup though!

On the menu, “WAFFLE” caught my eye.

The maple sweet roll Neal ordered and then later confessed was bit too wet (for him)and he really prefers regular iced version.

I totally was digging this space, this morning! My mind… Saw photographs everywhere! Hip tunes playing, eclectic people in cool conversation, java and waffles made for a delightful “out-the-office” morning.

Ok, back to blogging!

  1. I just came back from London, England and was surprised at how expensive coffee is over there but these prices aren’t much better, considering they are in American dollars. I thought maybe I haven’t ordered coffee in awhile in Canada but when I checked I discovered that a latte at Starbucks in Canada is 2.95 in Canadian dollars. Is this place a little more expensive than other coffee shops? In London we had to stop converting the pound to dollars or we would never eat or drink anything.

PERC is a local coffee roaster and they support local communities (lgbtq, SCAD, women’s shelter). Not a corporate giant, so I gladly pay the little extra to keep the funds with people who live, grow and work here.

    2. That makes sense. I think I would probably do the same. Thanks for enlightening me.

  2. I love a good coffee shop, but when it comes to early morning coffee time, there’s no place like home!

Sassy, there are about 19 coffee shops here, a few I still need to check out. I haven’t found one I could wear my PJ’s in, but I’m not that bold anyway.
