Imagine that you were there when it happened.
Walking with a group of photographers when someone pauses beside a wall of jasmine. One person notices the flowers. Another imagines them in her hair. Then, without warning, she laughs.

The moment holds more
I admit that I can become focused on one subject and miss what is happening just beyond the frame. Walking with other photographers changes that. Life is happening all around us.
Someone else pauses, points, or sees a possibility I had overlooked. Awareness becomes shared—and the moment grows larger.
Sunday, Community is Key
What a better way to enjoy your passion, your joy, your creativity than to surround yourselves with like-minded people.
On the third Sunday monthly, members of the Savannah Photo Club gathered for a street-photography walk. We came carrying different cameras, different ways of seeing, and the same desire to notice more. After several meetups, I have learned that the photographs are only part of the day. Conversation and community are what hold the walk together.
April 19, 2026. This week the gathering met at “Franklin’s”, a local coffee house. Another purpose for the chosen location is to encourage and support local businesses with our presence and money. The route brings us back to where we start. Coffee houses offer “the perfect” atmosphere to sit and talk both before and after the walk.
Don’t be afraid to step into the photograph. Sometimes the subject becomes part of the conversation.
The walk itself allowed my attention to broaden as groups splinter and form, individuals stray from the path to discover the ordinary in plain sight.
Jasmine grows in abundance in Savannah and it drapes from trees, walls and fences. Members took turns standing amongst the blooms, giving a shared experience.

Observe what is there
Someone looked again at the jasmine and imagined a few blossoms in her hair. The suggestion changed the mood instantly. She smiled, then the smile opened into laughter—unplanned, unguarded, and completely her own. For a moment, everyone nearby was drawn into it.
