When I saw this mysterious insect flying around my curbside flowers I was intrigued. Not knowing at the time this was a polka-dot wasp moth or also know as an oleander moth, he was hanging out on my front stoop because his life cycle was almost up.

Months later I take a look at my little oleander bush and it is covered with bright orange, furry caterpillars. Their bodies were covered with long lash-like hairs that would make “L’Oréal” jealous! Apparently these moth lay eggs on the their favorite source of food, my oleander bush! Lunch turned into an “all you can eat” buffet. They ate my plant.
