Pull Up a Seat – Savannah Squares – My Backyard is a Square

Some days, going out simply means walking around the corner, across the street and finding my favorite seat. Washington Square.
In Historic Downtown Savannah there are 22 Squares. Our Squares are like small parks located along a grid affectionately named “The Oglethorpe Plan” after James Oglethorpe founder of Georgia.

Washington Square has been part of our everyday life for years. Neighbors gather here for events. Tourism Savannah encourage folks to flock to Savannah for glimpse into “yester-year” through the preservation of these squares. Thousands may come to see Savannah’s history but I just come here to sit and relax.
Ok, ok, I people watch too!

I not that old but even the benches tell part of the story, weathered wood resting against old tabby filled with shells. Nothing fancy. Just something familiar that belongs exactly where it is.

Backyard Delights Close to Home

Home is not always confined by the walls around us. It can also stretch across the sidewalk, beneath the trees, and into those familiar places where we know exactly where we want to sit.
“Where do you go when you simply want to sit, get comfortable, and enjoy where you live?“
““A neighborhood becomes home when the places outside your door begin to feel like rooms you have always belonged in.”
