A Pelican at the Table

The carving caught my eye first, a wooden pelican taking center stage on a home’s dinner table.
With Moon River beyond the massive window, he had quite a backdrop for his portrait.

Wooden pelican sculpture on a block base on a dinner table, with Moon River beyond the window and two rows of reflected ceiling lights above.
This dinner guest comes with his own perch.

Those glowing dots above his head are ceiling lights reflected in the glass. I managed to fit a lot into this photo!

Brown pelicans live along Georgia’s coast; this wooden fellow has settled comfortably indoors. (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service) Chances are, If you live near the water, you have seen these large billed birds following fishing boats or floating, more like gliding just about the waves.
