Under the bridge today. Such a beautiful old bridge in Piedmont Park, Atlanta, dating back to 1887.

Throwback Thursday: Ok, Let’s Get Snappin’!

Throwback Thursday. Let’s go way back to June 13, 2013.

Why that date? It’s the date of the post that officially started this blog. Yes I did a few test posts in May and early June, but this was my launching post. Back then I was using my iPad and iPhone but photography was my passion and today I can say that my passion for photography and skills as a photographer have grown. Enjoy my beginnings… again! Boy, I look so young! Ha ha!

    ——-  ———-  ——— ———

Ok folks, this is the beginning of something wonderful.  I just started my blog, which means you are an important part to this journey.  IPads and iPhones in hand ready to capture those “fleeting” moments, those “wow” moments, those “awe” moments. Here we go… let’s get snappin’!

     Got Ya! Lookin for a great PIC Camera of choice, iPad wpid-Photo-Jun-12-2013-953-AM.jpg wpid-Photo-May-31-2013-214-PM.jpg wpid-Photo-Jun-12-2013-953-AM.jpg wpid-Photo-Jun-1-2013-951-AM.jpg wpid-Photo-Jun-1-2013-951-AM.jpg wpid-Photo-Jun-1-2013-952-AM.jpg IMG_1712

    Waterfall Inspired

I love when I look at another blogger’s post and remember, “Somewhere I took a photograph that speaks to this idea or the subject portrayed here.”

While visiting my family in Baltimore, Maryland in May of 2017, my husband and I found ourselves in an area of town I had not explored in over 30 years. Fells Point, Inner Harbor, Baltimore. I can tell you this was not the rundown part of town from my memories.

Picture of you will… huge glass hotels, cafes and beautifully restored homes and condos lined the renovated piers. Residents’ doors and gates had fantastic harbor views! Water taxies docked near French bakeries, art galleries with doors open, joggers pushing baby carriages sauntered by as children tossed their breakfast croissants to ducks riding on rippled currents.

And there in the center of all this… a waterfall slowly babbling, bubbling a hypnotic path down from a gleaming golden flame-like monument portraying the struggle of persecuted Russian nationalist that was only placed there, I believe, to allow us opportunity to slow down, wind down and feel the “Awe” of the moment!

  • Repair and Rescue

    Repair and Rescue

My fellow photographers and blog followers.  I have not posted to this blog in a while and much has changed since I began this photograph blogging adventure back in 2013.  Many changes have occurred, some great and others more challenging.  I have increased in my skills as a photographer, “Yeah”, and added several cameras to my equipment repertoire.  Even the iPhones and iPads I use have been given serious hardware and software upgrades. I posted some amazing photos, entered some photography challenges and even attended a WordPress Photography 101 course.

On the darker, less happy side of things, my actual site was down awhile.  It seems when I began this journey of photog exploration I had established my blog hosting site with my retired military email (check out my About page) which later was recouped by the government (a benefit loss to all retired military members) meaning all past emails stored, even the blog hosting site emails were lost to.  Well the hosting company was emailing me about change in company client policy using the defunct email. Without repeated replies the hosting site closed my account and then deleted my WordPress backups.  I later found out the personnel account represenative each website gets, my personal representative had been long since been changed and no one attempted to contact me.

After many frustrating calls and having the hosting site allowing me to provide an older Dropbox/Wordpress backup, I got my blog back.  Well not really.  Wordpress treated the backup like a new blog account and so I lost all my tags, all my categories, many links and pictures.  Now I am repairing, rebuilding and updating all aspects of my blog (New Blog) one post at a time, one page at time, one picture at a time. Repair and Rescue.  Please excuse the chaotic mess as I replace and relink pages and pictures to posts many of you have liked and commented on.  Take time to explore my blog world and share with folks you believe may be uplifted by what I present here.

    Much love to you all.
