People Portraits: Amore’ Amelia

A portrait captures a moment that’s gone forever; they are impossible to reproduce. Street Photography: Amore Amelia. My goal in this series is to create a really awesome frame of people existing right then because they honored me time to share their world.

Why Amore? Well it’s because I love Amelia! Amelia the island, I mean. One of my favorite destinations for years has been Amelia Island, Florida. One of the first islands as you enter the state. I love the beaches there. I love the historic Fernandina downtown. I love docks and marina. Most of all, meeting people!

On the main dock, early dusk, not yet evening but the lamps are coming, I am intrigued by a group of ladies that seemed to having so much joy it needed to be shared. As I walked closer on the pier, I noticed with my photographers eye, they all looked alike.

I quickly hinted to them how much I was attracted to their smiles and personalities. Turns out big sister who lives on the island invited her two younger sisters and mom for a visit before taking them to see a show in Jacksonville.

They agreed to be my future portrait models. How fortunate it was to meet them.

Me lining up the iPhone shoot.
