Spring Awakening in My Windows
Springtime in Savannah, Georgia. A warm 34 degrees! Wait? You call that warm!
We have been experiencing cooler weather on and off the past month. Still I ask, “What could be more Spring than fresh beautiful fragrant flowers blossoming in several windows of your home?”
As radiant beams of morning sunlight shining through colorful petals, it brings an aura of Spring to our apartment! Baby it’s cold outside but I love warmth and newness of life as these flowers burst to new life on my window ledges.

So She Did!
Saturday morning. The sameness of other Saturdays for me but not for countless women runners taking to the streets of Savannah!
My usual trek back from the farmer’s market through Forsyth Park was intersected by scores of elated, victorious warriors! The Publix Women’s Run had dominated the lower half of the park, flowing out onto the large grassy fields. Many runners conquered personal battles, some ran arm in arm together, while others were support units cheering triumphantly at the finish line.
Brightly clothed to show their inner spirit and adorned with medal laden ribbons on their necks proudly displaying “Finisher!“
I shared a reciprocated smile with one athletic lady who also wore a ribbon announcing she was the “birthday princess!” Maybe an tribute, a badge signaling a year’s struggle overcome? I don’t know, but the joy jumped up a notch when a fellow olympian came into view.
Clearly these two knew the each other victories. Their shirts said it best:
She believed she could, so she did!

People Portraits: Sharing a Selfie
A portrait captures a moment that’s gone forever, they are impossible to reproduce. Street Photography: Sharing a Selfie. My goal in this series is to create a really awesome frame of this person existing because they allowed me time to share their world.
While walking up to my favorite hang out, which by way is Hop City at the Krog Street Market, Inman Park, Atlanta, I saw to young ladies seated at a table. One held up her cell phone, the other held an ice cream cone as they desperately tried to get the perfect selfie. Click!
I asked if could get a picture too. They looked at each and agreed.

Farmer’s Fresh Lunch
Saturday mornings usually mean a trip to the local farmers market. Today was no exception. Forsyth Farmer’s Market in gorgeous Forsyth Park is within walking distance, just about 20 minutes away, but the forecast called for thunderstorms mid morning so we drove (not taking any chances). Our organic haul included baby red splendor mustard greens, salad spring greens, beautiful strawberries and salted, roasted peanuts. All these delicious items made a garden salad that produced a feast for the eyes and palette.

Car Love
As I was walking through downtown Savannah’s many streets and lanes with camera in hand, enjoying a sunny day, I spotted someone who seemed more excited about the good weather than I.
I actually did a double-take and walked back to be sure what I saw. At first glance it appeared a sports car was stuck sideways in the tiny lane.
The owner looked up over the car as if seeking my approval of his recently sparkling washed car shining in the morning sun.
Raising my Nikon, he posed, the camera clicked, he smiled.
