Garden party visitor! Green little grasshopper.
I looked down to see what might be some lost piece of custom jewelry just lying theare on the sidewalk. Shining and a bit mesmerizing this object demanded closer attention.

Not realizing her beetle accessory had become unclasped then had fallen to the asphalt below, someone may be on a quest to recover this item.

If not a lost brooch perhaps an ancient Egyptian artifact needed to unlock a millennia old mystic power?

A sparkle of jade green, copper and sulfur yellow, I got way down, up close to examine him.

He turned out to be a Green June Beetle.

While walking on the Tybee Island beach, this Gulf Fritillary Butterfly had to find a safe place to land and take a rest. He chose Neal’s hand. Lucky us. These butterflies are known to travel in swarms from Latin America to the Texas Gulf up to Georgia Coast.

Veteran with four tours in Iraq, 23 years in the military and still this man, me, is much afraid of arachnids, SPIDERS! Yes indeed! They creep me out! It doesn’t help that every time my eye spies a spider I have to move in close to take a picture. I guess its fascination? Not sure…
Tiny webs float through the air. Most don’t notice, I do. A flutter of little legs, maybe 8 of them. I jump, I flench, I cringed! I???

I look closer, he’s not actually moving. He’s, he’s just plastic!?!
Oh my heart!!!
Ok it’s back in my chest now. Really, seriously, no I was scared… but only for a second!

This week has been full of packing and loading as I lend a helping hand to my daughter as she moves to a new house. Boxes in trucks and trailers toppling with yard and garage items. I could easily feel overwhelmed with what needs to move next.
Yet in a moment of pause between lift – and – move, I noticed a little bee sitting on the trailer just looking a me. I had get closer to make sure of what I saw. Yes, he was resting on the rail just “chillin” and I seemed to him, a “busy bee“! With pollen still clinging to his busy little legs, this hard worker knew the value of restful contemplation.

“Slow down”, my mind said to me “bee in the moment.”
“Life is available only in the present moment” Thich Nhat Hanh
So bee there!
I turned again to thank my small spiritual guru. Alas, he had already flown off to teach another person a sweet drop of wisdom.
