Thoughtful Thursday
Ok, It really is not that hard. Relax…

Congaree National Park, Hopkins, South Carolina

After reading “The Ecology of A Cracker Childhood” by Janisse Ray, (Great book! I recommend it!), I began to notice these magnificent trees were all around Georgia, not just in the state parks.
Recently I met Janisse and her husband, Raven Waters along with John “Crawfish” Crawford in Savannah as a part of Ossabaw Island, Personal Encounters with the Georgia Coast. It was an incredible four hours class session by #seniorcitizensinc #thelearningcenter on knowing, seeing, experiencing and loving a place, in this case Ossabaw Island. She challenged us to fall in love with “place”, write poetry about “place”, and to listen how others tell of their connection to a place. My poem I will share in another blog post.
Please visit Janisse Ray on facebook, instagram, twitter.
