Portrait of Stacey Abrams in Savannah

Six Word Saturday

Walking at Daffin Park on Friday, I saw a very cool mural and I knew I had to get a picture before it changed. Weeks prior in the same location, I saw a mural of Dr. Faucci, which I loved.

There really needs to a permanent mural or statue in our city to honor this wonderful woman’s work here in the field of voting rights inequities in Savannah and all over the state of Georgia! Stacey Abrams Fair Fight organization helped register minorities and foster attention to a series of practices that disenfranchised mainly people of color in southern states. Not a stranger to unfair voting practices, her bid for Governor in 2018 was frought with the Georgia Secretary of State purging 150,000 registered voters (mainly people of color) just before the election. Oddly enough, Abrams fell short by just 50,000.

Thank you Stacey Abrams!
