While vacationing in the Poconos, our daily hiking on the private property lead us down the road to a Summer Scouting Camp. At the time the camp was closed.
The Ranger living on the scouting camp grounds allowed us to explore.
I was once a boy scout while living in Baltimore, Maryland. Growing up in the inner city, it was a great to head to the woods, camping and to scout jamborees, so I truly relished the opportunity.

Ah, there’s something about getting to spend time in the “wilderness”. When I was 10, I got to go to Girl Scout camp for a week in the mountains of New Mexico. It was the first time I had ever been left somewhere alone and I knew no one. It was one of the best weeks of my life and is one of my fondest childhood memories.
Such a lovely memory! The mountains of New Mexico must be gorgeous. Neal and I just did a 3 week class on Wilderness and were challenged to find a place or moment of wilderness or wild-ness. I really does us humans good to be in wild places. TIB (true in blogging) the class was at the Senior Learning Center. Excellent programs, lectures and classes.
